Music Education Philosophy: Music is an indispensable part of human life that impacts learning and enhances quality of life. Studies show that music has a positive effect on a person's mental, physical and emotional well-being. Here at Oxford Elementary School, we believe that every child has musical talent. Our goal is to make sure that every child succeeds in music, expresses themselves through music, discovers their own musical abilities and applies those abilities in the classroom and beyond. We strive to provide an educational program that is designed to teach the performing arts to children in a way that will help them develop creativity, positive self-esteem, aesthetic awareness, independence, an appreciation of diverse cultural heritages, a sense of responsibility, and valuable life skills.
